The Bird and I

When I am fast asleep,
I hear a sweet song of a charming bird.
Then I am awake from my sleep,
And say "Good morning! Dear."
"Oh! How sweet you sing."
Making my heart and mind to hear.
What you sing I often wonder;
So thrilling and rejoicing!
In the morning of thunder.
You enjoy the beautiful morning flying around,
Humming to us your melodious song!
When the whole world is asleep,
Lost in dreary dreams,
Out you come and quietly peep.
How the dawn changes to morning,
And trees swing sweet and low!
Welcoming the bright morning,
Bidding farewell to the dawn light!
'Chidhiya chidhiya udhti jai, chidhiya chidhiya khushi se gaye'...so goes a nursery rhyme - a favourite of the kids in my school:). I have also always wanted to be a bird :)
ReplyDeleteIt also reminds me of another kids song in Hindi "Chun Chun karti aayi chidiya ".Don't remember the singer;but some childhood memories and photographs in such poetic forms are closest to the heart!!😚💓😊
